Hello, my name is Sarah Tichacek.

I am a teaching artist, face painter, food enthusiast and nature lover. I have enjoyed making art and exploring its various mediums since I was a small child. Drawing was my first love, but painting is my passion. Just like many members in my extended family, the "art bug" has bitten me hard. My biggest muse is the outside world. I am a huge fan of landscapes, mostly driven towards plant life and waterways. Many of my drawings and paintings surround this subject matter.
For the past five years, I have been learning how to become an effective art educator in and out of the traditional classroom experience. I encourage my students to explore their curiosities and embrace mistakes as opportunities. There is no right or wrong way to create art. I used to be more focused on the finished product in my younger years. Now, it is more about the journey of how we get there. In my opinion, all art is good art. As long as you gain something from its process, it is never a waste of time or failed attempt.
